Karissa L. Frazier joined Scannell & Associates, P.C. in 2024, transitioning from a background in workers' compensation defense. She concentrates her practice in civil litigation, personal injury and wrongful death, probate, estate planning, family law, immigration, real estate transactions, and civil rights matters. Karissa now serves as a Partner at Scannell & Associates, where she continues to contribute to the firm's growth, client service, and long-term success.
Karissa earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Before law school, she obtained a Master of Public Health with concentrations in maternal and child health and global health. While completing her bachelor's degree, she competed as a Division I softball player, earning All-Conference and Academic honors. Originally from California, Karissa graduated from Chaparral High School in Temecula.
During her time at UIC, Karissa was actively involved with Gift of Life, and her service was recognized through multiple honors, including the Chicago White Sox–Roland Hemond Award, the Eugertha Bates Memorial Award, the Chancellor's Student Service Award, and the Horizon League Bobby Fong Award. She was also a semifinalist for the Coach John Wooden Citizenship Cup. In her spare time, Karissa volunteers with A New Direction, an organization supporting survivors of domestic violence, and dedicates additional time to coaching youth and high-school softball on Chicago's South Side.
